Ljubljana Summer Academy: Along the Danube - Between myths and moments

The Ljubljana Summer Academy, organized by the Max Weber Program, took place from August 24 to September 1, 2024, and focused on the diverse history of the Danube region through six key locations.

Under the guidance of Dr. Edit Király from the University of Budapest and Dr. Olivia Spiridon from the Institute of Danube Swabian History and Regional Studies Tübingen, participants explored literary representations of both central hubs like Vienna and peripheral areas such as the submerged island Ada Kaleh.

MWP scholarship holder Matthias Laufhütte shared his personal academic journey, which culminated in a virtual exhibition that is set to be permanently published on the Deutsche Digitale Bibliothek (German Digital Library).

The project concluded with a digital vernissage of the exhibition "Along the Danube – Between Myths and Moments" in early 2025, showcasing contributions that reflect the rich diversity of the Danube through poetry, stories, memories, and travel reports.
