Partic­ipants in the con­fer­ence “Germany’s and Eu­rope’s For­eign Policy Under Pres­sure” share their expe­rienc­es of en­gag­ing dis­cussions, new per­spec­tives and mem­orable en­coun­ters.

Around 3,000 guests at­tend­ed the Ba­varian State Par­lia­ment's Summer Re­cep­tion on 21 July 2026, host­ed by Presi­dent of the Ba­varian State Par­lia­ment Ilse Aign­er in the park of Schleißheim Pal­ace. Ten mem­­bers of the Elite Net­­work of Ba­varia, who have demonstra­ted ex­cep­tio­nal com­mit­­ment, at­ten­d­ed the event.

As part of the Elite Network of Bavaria FORUM series, the Elite Graduate Pro­gram "Global Change Ecolo­gy" hosted a lec­ture by Pro­fessor Volker Mosbrugger in Bay­reuth, thereby high­lighting the im­por­tance of bio­diver­sity.

The work­shop of the International Doctorate Program "Rethinking Environment" ap­proached its topic, as­phalt, through inter­disci­pli­nary an­gles. The schol­arly ex­change con­nect­ed ques­tions of pro­duc­tion, recy­cling, envi­ron­men­tal sus­taina­bility, and cli­mate, with his­tor­ical, cul­tural, and artis­tic per­spec­tives.

The Free State of Bavaria is expan­­ding its state-run program to support gifted students by in­creasing the monthly allowance under the Max Weber Pro­gram to 300 euros. Science Minister Blume de­scribes this as a “finan­cial boost for bright minds” and a clear signal in support of edu­cational equity.

Ten mem­bers of the Elite Net­work of Ba­varia had the op­por­tu­ni­ty to meet around 70 Nobel Lau­reates at the Lindau No­bel Lau­reate Meet­ing. The anni­ver­sary meet­ing fos­tered inspir­ing scien­tific dis­cussions and mean­ingful per­sonal ex­changes with lead­ing re­searchers and talent­ed young scien­tists from around the world.

On the hottest day of the year so far, the Elite-Cup 2026 took place in Erlangen. All teams mastered this challenge brilliantly, and the winners were warmly celebrated at the end.

About 250 guests accepted the Max Weber Program’s invitation to the traditional summer festival on 13 June, which took place in Erlangen this year. In the morning, the keynote address focused on the topic of artificial intelligence, while the afternoon featured social and athletic activities.

The annual meeting of the Marianne Plehn Program was held in Rothen­burg ob der Tauber from 12 to 14 June 2026. Over the course of the week­end, 27 scholar­ship holders ex­changed ideas, attended work­shops, and ex­plored the city.
