As part of the "Ex­tra­cur­ricu­lar Learning Sites" semi­nar of the Elite Grad­uate Pro­gram “MINT-Leh­ramt PLUS”, stu­dents inves­tigat­ed how well nature and sus­taina­bility can be taught in extra­cur­ricu­lar learn­ing sites dur­ing a field trip to northern Ger­many.

The PhDs of the Inter­na­tional Doc­torate Pro­gram "Re­think­ing En­vi­ron­ment" were intro­duced to Augsburg aquat­ic ecol­ogy, Astri­da Nei­mani's phe­no­me­nolo­gy, and the func­tions of water as a food, re­source, and natu­ral ele­ment.

Pro­fes­sors and Mas­ter stu­dents of the Elite Grad­uate Pro­gram “Global Change Ecol­ogy“ at the Uni­versi­ty of Bay­reuth par­tici­pated in the week-long IP­BES 9 meet­ing in Bonn - either as ob­serv­ers of the con­fer­ence or as vol­un­teers with the IP­BES secre­tariat - and took part in dis­cussion on nu­mer­ous top­ics.

On June 24-26, 2022, the Inter­na­tional Doc­torate Pro­gram “Re­think­ing Envi­ron­ment” host­ed its first inter­na­tional con­fer­ence, “Am­biva­lences of Eco­logi­cal Trans­for­mation,” at the Uni­versi­ty of Augsburg, gath­ering schol­ars in multi­ple pan­els, work­shops, a roundtable, and two key­note speakers.

Elite-Cup is back! This year, 10 teams from vari­ous Elite Net­work pro­grams have visit­ed Mu­nich for an in­tense day of com­peti­tion and fun, which re­sulted in the Elite Grad­uate Pro­gram Theo­reti­cal and Mathemat­ical Phys­ics (TMP) tak­ing home the Cup.

Art­ists have made the invis­ible visible for the dou­ble award-win­ning exhi­bition "Pic­turing the Invis­ible". Their work shows the con­se­quences of the great earth­quake disas­ter in east­ern Japan in the Fuku­shima re­gion. In terms of organ­iza­tion and con­tent, the exhi­bition was co-su­pervised by stu­dents of the Elite Grad­uate Pro­gram RE­SET.

As part of the Long Night of Sci­ence, 26 stu­dents from the Elite Grad­uate Pro­gram "Inte­grated Im­munology" of­fered an excit­ing jour­ney to dis­cover the im­mune sys­tem on May 21, 2022. Visi­tors young and old en­joyed hands-on sta­tions, in­for­mation post­ers and excit­ing lec­tures.

Alumni of the Elite Net­work of Ba­varia met on 12 May for a guid­ed tour of the Mu­nich Syna­gogue on Jak­ob­splatz and the asso­ciated Walk of Re­mem­brance - an even­ing of en­coun­ters and ex­traor­di­nary in­sights.

To max­imize the im­pact of the the­sis, and create value for socie­ty, the TUM En­trepreneuri­al Mas­ter­class (EMC) helps out­stand­ing stu­dents to com­bine their scien­tific excel­lence with entre­pre­neuri­al ambi­tion. A stu­dent’s re­port.

Be­tween 31 March and 1 April 2022 the doc­toral stu­dents of the Inter­na­tional Doc­torate Pro­gram “Re­think­ing Envi­ron­ment - The Envi­ron­men­tal Hu­mani­ties and the Transfor­mation of So­ciety” intro­duced their re­search pro­jects to peers and advi­sors in the first collo­qui­um of the pro­gram. The event took place at LMU Mu­nich and at the Uni­versi­ty of Augsburg.
