Alumni meets …

In November 2018, the alumni event of the Elite Graduate Program “Finance and Information Management” took place for the second time in the Café Reitschule in Munich. Alumni of all 15 years were present again this year. The event offered the perfect opportunity to see former fellow students again, to exchange information about past months and years and to network. The meeting was accompanied by a program of lectures by partners from practice, professors and alumni, and followed by a joint dinner.

An all-round successful event - this was the conclusion of the organizers and numerous guests at the event. The alumni event of the Elite Graduate Program “Finance and Information Management” went into its second round in November 2018, after its premiere in 2017. This year the event again enjoyed great popularity. Around 250 guests, including alumni of all age groups, students, professors and practice partners gathered at the Café Reitschule in Munich.

The event began with a welcoming address by Professors Hans Ulrich Buhl and Rudi Zagst, who welcomed all guests and reported on the past accomplishments and future of the Finance and Information Management course. This was followed by short keynote speeches by the practice partners under the motto "What our future holds - Pitch it like a Praxispartner". After a coffee break, which offered the attendees an opportunity for exchange, FIM alumni presented their self-established start-up "Integreat" with a lecture on the topic "Integreat - A FIM Approach to Social Entrepreneuership".

This was followed by discussions at roundtables. Exciting questions and currently relevant topics were discussed in small groups. The first part focused on "Trends & Career", followed by a second part on "Beyond Work". Christoph von Waldersee, a development finance specialist, then gave a keynote speech on the growing importance of financing in developing countries, particularly with regard to green infrastructure. He also shared his experiences from working with governments and corporations, especially in Asia, on financing sustainable urban development, industrial and social development, and the creation and modernization of public infrastructure with a focus on higher levels of resource efficiency. After a joint dinner, the guests enjoyed the successful event with music and a good atmosphere in a relaxed atmosphere.
