MSNE Reunion Event 2025: A Decade of Neuroengineering at TUM

The Elite Graduate Program “Neuroengineering” (MSNE) celebrated its ten-year anniversary with the first official MSNE Reunion Event at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) in July 2025. The event brought together alumni from all cohorts, current students, and faculty members to reconnect, exchange experiences, and reflect on how the program has shaped academic and professional journeys.

Looking Back on Ten Years of Growth

The reunion opened with a warm welcome by the program directors Prof. Gordon Cheng and Prof. Kristen Kozielski, who highlighted the growth of MSNE from its early beginnings to an international and interdisciplinary community. Alumni presentations illustrated the wide range of career paths - from research in bio-inspired computing to neuromorphic engineering and deep learning infrastructure. Their contributions showed how MSNE graduates apply neuroengineering knowledge in diverse and impactful ways.

Connecting the MSNE Community

A lively panel discussion encouraged participants to reflect on the social responsibilities of neuroengineering and the importance of ethical, transparent research. Informal conversations during the poster session and the concluding get-together strengthened the sense of community among current and former students of the Elite Graduate Program “Neuroengineering”. Many participants expressed interest in continued engagement through future reunions and alumni talks.
