Due to the societal challenges in biomedical sciences today, such as emerging widespread diseases, the increasing importance of precision medicine, the ageing population and the processing of big data, there is an ever-increasing demand for highly-skilled, qualified young scientists. The program is designed to meet this demand by educating distinguished students at the intersection of biology and medicine at the forefront of biomedical sciences.

The research-oriented Elite Master's Program "Human Biology - Principles of Health and Disease" is taught in English to a maximum of 30 highly motivated and dedicated students. At a modern research location it offers state-of-the-art education in a wide variety of biomedical subjects, such as "Cell Biology, Stem Cells and Epigenetics", "Molecular Microbiology and Infection Biology", "Molecular Oncology", "Neurosciences" and "Cardiovascular and Lung Research". The curriculum offers numerous compulsory as well as elective modules and transferable-skill courses. Students will particularly profit from a tailored mentoring program offered by experienced and internationally renowned professors laying the foundation for outstanding future researchers.

Our aim is to optimally prepare our students to successfully meet future challenges in a science-related professional career in the field of biomedicine.
