Language of instruction: English

Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree or completed six semester of a diploma programm

Deadline: August 15

The elite graduate program Macromolecular Science at the University of Bayreuth aims to support the most talented students in chemistry, biochemistry, polymer and colloid chemistry, polymer engineering, physics, biophysics and biology from national and international universities by an interdisciplinary study programme. The best students in their field are expected to broaden the education in their major by additional qualifications in neighbouring topics of macromolecular science. The concept is motivated by the considered opinion that the quality of interdisciplinary research is always based on the expertise in single fields augmented by knowledge in neighbouring disciplines.

The program involves three advanced courses, consisting of lectures, seminars and experiments, an interdisciplinary laboratory course, and a research project aimed at scientific publications. Management training carried out in cooperation with the Bayerische Eliteakademie is added to the academic lecture program. Furthermore, each student spends at least three months abroad for a scientific research project.
