Over 300 students from all over Bavaria took the opportunity and were officially welcomed in the Elite Network of Bavaria. The new students of the Elite Graduate Programs, of the Max Weber-Program, of the International Doctorate Programs, of the Junior Research Groups and Research Scolarships got an overview about activities offered by the Elite Network of Bavaria and had the chance to connect across different programs and disciplines.

After a welcome speech by the head of the coordination office, Beate Lindner, several members presented interesting insights in the Elite Network of Bavaria (ENB). First of all, Clara Eisebraun, reported about the possibility of participating in the Nobel Laureate Meeting in Lindau and her most exciting experience as an ENB's delegation's member at this significant event.

Bastien Dietemann and Jannik Dippel (Elite Graduate Program "Advanced Materials and Processes" gave a presentation about the Elite Network FORUM, hosted by their program, before Thomas Steingasser, member of the Elite Graduate Program "Theoretical and Mathematical Physics" switched the subject to a more dynamical field, talking about the Elite Cup, an annual soccer event between teams of members of the ENB.

The annual Graduation Ceremony, an event which still lies in the future for the new members of the Elite Network, was presented by Maria-Anna Oberlinner, an alumna of the Max Weber-Program.

Following a short introduction to the ENB's website and intranet by Max Weber-Program member Elisabeth Erber, Barbara Beege from Team Sprachraum gave an overview about the softskill seminars and encouraged the audience to take the opportunities offered to them by the ENB.

The following coffee break was used for socializing, getting to know students of different subjects and tying new networks.

The second part of speeches was opened by Prof. Dr. Volker Ulm (MINT-LehramtPLUS), looking back at his own academical background and giving important advice to the audience. Another completely different career path was then presented by the Alumnus Dr. Oliver Trinchera, who founded the very successful start-up KINEXON. In the ensuing discussion both speakers had time to answer questions from the audience.

The Get together was rounded off with a dinner and with it the opportunity to strengthen ties and friendships made on this day.
